I was quite saddened to hear Chris make veiled digs at Richard Allinson on Friday's show. Did anyone else hear him? He did it all very subtley but he seemed to be insinuating that he felt apologetic for leaving the listeners with Richard next week. He never actually mentioned Richard by name but talked about how next week's holidays wasn't because he wanted to leave his listeners but because the 'bosses' had told him he 'had to give the other guy a chance'. He seemed to purposefully not give mention to Richard and I know other people have commented that Chris never thanks Richard for sitting in for him whilst he does thank Stuart. This seems awfully strange and immature considering I've often heard Richard speak very highly of Chris when he's sitting in for him and on other shows.

Or perhaps I'm just reading things into it...

Nick.

Maybe Chris has to take Holidays owed to him? If know one else is available when he wants his Holidays then has to take them around the cover presenters? It maybe not fair, but hey s&&& happens.

Fair enough. I probably am. When I heard it in the car, I did find it funny but then thought 'hmm, there might be some people who might not have liked that'. I'll have a drop of whisky now seen as you insist...Wink

What do you mean you didn't insist? Oh, well, too late.

I doubt very much that CE has holidays 'owing to him' Mark.

I think you'll find most of the presenters are not employees of the BBC as such and can take their holidays when they want to.

I don't think Chris Evans has any kind of "downer" on Richard.

I am sure as Chris develops his tv career he will be having more time off in the future.

I certainly think Richard is very comfortable in the Drivetime slot-I wonder if he will have a hang over today in view he was age 50 yesterday-I'm sure he must been celebrating this landmark birthday.

Not necessarily. If he can't accommodate both gigs (tv and radio), then he'll have to drop one. He can't really keep a high profile slot on radio and take more and more time off. Besides, tv work can fit around his radio work.
