Jeremy just broke the news on Stuart's show. Jonathan and Russell have been suspended from all BBC activities whilst the investigation is being conducted.
I suppose this was the only option that the Director General could take. I'm sure others will be asking why Lesley gets away without being commented upon. |

Suspended on full pay though... I wouldn't mind a bit of that at £16k per day.
I wonder if Ross will be capable of being "his old self" on his Saturday show after this humiliation? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

If it's true that they are suspended on full pay, it's scandalous - why should we pay these perverts? _________________ MiS |

It is usual practice for suspension on disciplinary investigative grounds to be on full pay, given that it isn't per se a disciplinary measure.

Well let's have a speedy investigation, because there can be no doubt that they are both guilty - what's the point in putting it off? Then this drain on the Licence Fee can be removed _________________ MiS |

What's the bet there'll be some wishy-washy statement at the end, the two will get a public wrist-slapping from BBC management and then everything will be as it was, with said drains back in their respective slots? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I'm not so sure-this has gone too far. They wouldnt even have been suspoended if it hadnt been for all the pressure from the PM and others at the top.Suspension may not be enough to satisfy people.I think there is a good chance we wil never hear or see Russel Brand or Jonathon Ross on the BBC ever again.
One peice of good news for Brand and Ross-they wont be seeing jail time.Andrew Sachs has decided not to refer the matter to the police.Whethether his grandd daughter agrees with that desciusion though is another matter...She sounded pretty damn angry in her statement. |

Ross might be back but i doubt Russel Brand will. His show never quite fitted in to the schedule.Douglas made the biggest blunder hiring him its now obvious. |

Of course she won't be prosecuting - she's the one set to benefit most from all this rubbish! In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if her (and her loathsome publicist Max Clifford) have engineered the whole thing. Who tipped off the Mail on Sunday, eh? |

Jonathan Ross has made a statement to the BBC. Saying " I'am deeply sorry and regret what happened with my juvenile behavior.
Sounds like the man is in very very serious trouble.
Suspension could mean sacking or will this happen? |

It's been said before but obviously needs saying again, Evans has had two previous breakfast shows on two stations and how did they end up? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Thats like saying Johnnie Walker was fired/ suspended several times during his career & should never be given another show. But you wouldn't say that. Because you like him. But it means your arguement has more holes than Swiss cheese. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Worth stressing - We've been there and done that and it won't work next time either. When Wogan finally does retire, let's have a new approach (no, not the Derby winner ) and a fresh voice! _________________ MiS |
