Why or why.
Both this man and his this show have well and truly had their day.
It's 2008 not the 70's for heavens sake. |

I'm sure he was live when it was recorded
But seriously, two hours of Stewpot has to be better than what they had in previous years (Gordon Ramsey & so on...) _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

dangerous ground there I think Mark..
Personally, I think it'll be a great show. Ed simply knows how to entertain. He hasn't got worry about image, be careful about what he says or try to be cutting edge like a few guest presenters recently on Radio2.. just good music, a decent voice and good stories.. just right for the day I reckon. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

It feels like the 1970's with the economy collapsing & unemployment soaring, so maybe its time for Ed to come back into fashion _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Stewpot? I'll be tuning in, for nostalgic reasons of course, but I'm sure it will be an entertaining listen. |

The website says to send requests to Stewpot at Radio 2, Birmingham?
I thought they'd got rid of Brum R2, hence the loss of Maconie's Saturday show and Janice Long's move to London... Anyways, it'll be great to hear Stewpot back on the radio; he should do more deputising and documentaries! |

Well I suppose the Mailbox studios in Brum are still up and running for BBC WM - does anyone know if the Archers is still made there? |

Well, I have to say Ed's show made for superb listening yet again... I had about 10 staff on yesterday morning ( aged 19 - 60 ) and almost straight away, the atmosphere changed and most were singing along to Ed's music and exchanging comments about their childhood memories prompted by the songs.
Very enjoyable show and just right for the day... and every sunday afternoon too.
I wonder if even Mark Mayhew raised a smile?

Probably not..
I enjoyed Junior Choice. It would be nice to have Ed back on Radio 2. Maybe he could do the cover work in 2009.. |

A delightful two hours. Surely R2 can find a bit more space for Stewpot in 2009.

I listened to this Xmas Show today.
Did it raise a smile with me-no it didn't-I thought it was dreadful.
I can't see Ed Stewport coming back to Radio 2-he has had his day-thank you. |

Is it because you didn't like the music played? or is the problem with Ed himself.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

The music played but I was never really a fan of Ed's even when I was young. He just strikes me as very ordinary. |
