To be given by the Iranian President Mahmaud Ahmadinejad-well worth tuning in for I would have thought. |

I'll check the Al-Jazeera schedules on my Skybox.
I noticed Sir David Frost has a show on that channel these days. |

How come the more orthodox version featuring HM is already being previewed?
Has someone broken an embargo?

Presumably it is an agreed teaser to drum up more interest in the broadcast. Although everything she ever says is totally predictable anyway. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Quote: | The President of Iran will deliver Channel 4's Alternative Christmas Message, the broadcaster has confirmed.
With relations between Iran and the West expected to be at the forefront of political debate next year, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will impart a spiritual message and "seasonal goodwill" to UK viewers.
Unlike earlier years, the broadcast will not go up against the Queen's speech, instead airing at 7.15pm.
Dorothy Byrne, head of news and current affairs for Channel 4, said: "As the leader of one of the most powerful states in the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad's views are enormously influential. As we approach a critical time in international relations, we are offering our viewers an insight into an alternative world view.
"Channel 4 has devoted more airtime to examining Iran than any other broadcaster and this message continues a long tradition of offering a different perspective on the world around us."
Previous C4 Christmas messages have come from an Afghanistan war veteran, Quentin Crisp, the Reverend Jesse Jackson and The Simpsons. |
Great Next year we will give him a present. Send in our troops. |

I heard after BBC News at 10 on Tuesday they were gagged to broadcast anything before Midnight Christmas Eve about HM speech. I suppose over the years things were out in the open about her speech days in advance, and they might as well not shown it on Christmas Day. |

I tuned into this alternative message.
I thought it was totally non-offensive.
Have to say the Queen's speech was dull as dishwater imho. |

We dont have the troops to do that, but equally we shouldnt pretend that the guy is anything other than a street thug who managed to get power. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

C4 are unbeleivable! Christmas message by Ahmajinidad who is executing Christians in Iran daily?
If C4 had been around during WW2 no doubt they would have broadcast a Christmas message from Adolf Hitler
Poll Pot is no longer around, maybe C4 will treat us to the Yorkshire Ripper next year?
Unbeleivable! |

I think that's what those wearing the blue sky thinking specs would call being 'edgy' or 'pushing the boundaries' or some such thing. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
