Just went back onto the BBC R2 boards, only to find they are closed! Only wanted to wish them merry crimble, like I have on here. Just seems sad to close so early, anybody else have the same problem? Any way, again a very merry Christmas to all and a peaceful New Year.

Must be terrible for the 3 posters leftover there. Maybe they can text each other instead until Wednesday. Send the bill to the BBC. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Opening Times
Weekdays 0900-2200
Weekends 1000-2200
The Radio 2 message board will be closed from 1800 on Sunday 24 December to 0900 Wednesday 27 December.
At New Year the board will be closed from 1800 on Sunday 31 December to 0900 on Tuesday 2 January.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So they can have a holiday themselves as most of the radio transmission is pre-recorded. The studio tecs are left behind with the left overs of Terry's and Gordons Turkeys.

Yeah, I went over around 6.30 and it was closed. Chas is still posting there of course. Last week that place was dead but now they are getting quite a few postings and there's a surprising number of new people. The chat is limited, and the mods close/lock most things not music.
Anyway, I can't promise to be on here every day over the hols but the admin team will be lurking

Things are going well over on the old R2 Message Boards. They are suggesting music suitable for a POW camp now, as well as suggesting wooden songs for Pete Mitchell's show.

Ernie I can't stop laughing, you remind of when I was in Munchen, in a beir kellar and the ump arh band asked for requests, Smiffie asked for Living Next Door To Alice. Ya ya, ist zher gut, Herr Braun ya. Well they played it and the chorus went like this, "Alice, Alice oow ze **** ist Alice" with hundreds of beir steins banging the tables to the beat. Who says the Germans don't have a sense of humour Us 4 Brits, (an Englishman, 2 Welshmen & a Scotsman) were all crying with laughter, brilliant

Not in our little party, but could well have been else where as I guess there was about 500 - 1000 people in there, sidecars Irish, does that count; she was not there though

Hello boys!! What fun!!
Have to say the boards are alive and very well thanks!!
Mods are dickheads,as you would expect, but hey,if you have a sense of humour, you can overcome that!!
That's why I started the POW thread......we have loads of new blood, and they're a fun loving crowd - feel free to drop in at any time!!
Bye for now xx _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

The POW thread is a classic. Great stuff! I see another thread asking posters for their favourite list. Since 95% of the threads seem to be list driven that is quite a choice! Good to see that the Beeb cant quite quash all dissent. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Calm down, calm down fast lady, I do still post on the Beeb boards, but find it too limited now. Also you still cannot get a reply to any constructive critism, either that or it is modded off for the least digression. Seems to me that the Beeb have the opposite policy to their paying customers than "if you don't like the service tell us, if you do like the service tell everyone else". Strange but true gal

Seems to me,we all know that no criticsism is now tolerated on R2 now.
Nothing is going to change that.I get modded 3 or 4 times a week.
Today I got done for saying the words Six guns! and when I protested, they modded that too! The day before,I had the temerity to say Bobby Dylan no mates - again censored. But that's their problem, not mine!
Anyway fellas, what I came on to say,is come on over,if you fancy a giggle,or a serious one,and post the Radio 2 stuff on here!!
No point in letting the bastards walk all over us,and it would be nice to see Ernie,Pugwash, etc now and again. Does anyone know what happened to Mikeraphone?
I know BB,Santa and a few others have been over from time to time, and of course it aint what it used to be over there, but it's still the best message boards around, and I would hate to see it go under.
All the best

Nice to hear from you oldraver, well I can now I have me earing aid plugged in. I would agree it would be great to have a few more of the old characters posting on here, especially Herr Grubber to go with Pugwash, Twostepper & Santa, we even had Lonegroover for a while, but he's gone AWOL. I do miss Scott, he could be a pain at times, but then can't we all and on the whole I enjoyed his posts as he tended to make me laugh more than annoy.

HiyaBB
Lonegroover has posted a few times on the R2 boards, which was a nice surprise,as he was always seemingly at odds with others over the Ginger one.
Scott is around on here,is'nt he? I did see John Wright having to tell him off for misbehaving as per!!
You must excuse Lyds for going into one,but that's why we all love her!!
In fact it was her who told me about my poor old POW thread having the piss ripped out of it!!
Right.Enough from me for one day.Nice to catch up,mate.Speak soon!! _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

The old Radio 2 boards are now down to 3 as the Bob Dylan one has now gone.
Nothing at all to do with Radio 2 just What music do you all like?
Or my top 10 whatever.
They are certainly a sad looking message board compared to 6 months ago.
Needless to say i haven't posted since the Big change!!!!!!!! |

Just seems to be endless lists over there. Your favourite song, favourite band, favourite intro, favourite outro, favourite bit in the middle, favourite one-legged singer, favourite dead band leader, favourite song with the name of a native South American spider in it, etc, etc....
On and on these b****y lists go. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

They do look very sad and unhappy on there own. I should post a message about the best dead singer of all time. It goes it to pre mod first. |

I've been put in pre-mod as well for daring to see the funny side of writing endless lists of singers & songs. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Mark/Ernie,
I think that the word for the old R2 boards is ....depressing. There doesn't seem to be any lightness about the place.

I occasionnally pop over but can't think of anything to add to their threads.
