I'm very sad to hear this on the news this evening.. I always liked his acting, not just in the Prisoner either. I loved his quirky way of talking sometimes, like a "chop chop chop" kind of delivery if you know what I mean. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Sad news. I've just finished my box set of The Prisoner.
Let us not forget is other achievments as director on Columbo and Longshanks to Mel Gibson's Braveheart

and Danger Man too.
One of many little lines that tickled me from the Prisoner, I think he was having his shoes shined?? and he asked "Busy.. Potter?"
Just the way he said that will always stick with me.
Wasn't that the episode with the cricket match and the drink in the bar afterwards.. "You... Have.. Just Been.. Poisoned"?
Great stuff. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I too was sorry to hear of his death. I had no idea that he was that old. There used to be a guy in our "gang" when I was younger whose nickname was "Danger Man". I used to think that someone thought he bore a resemblance to Patrick McGoohan (which I couldn't see myself), but it turned out he was a road-worker. ("Danger - men at work) |

Count me in as a fan of Patrick Mc Goohan too. His 'clipped tones' manner of speaking was very effective in the roles he played. Although he seemed to be 'British' to me, I believe he was a native New Yorker! |

I never watched the prisoner. Maybe if they repeat it I might dip in. |
