Fred Goodwin house and car has been vandalised. He maybe a bad banker, but I condemn violence. He wasn't the only banker who messed up, but did he start the recession? I really don't think so.

But that isn't really the story, is it Mark? Is anybody accusing him of starting the recession - or is it perhaps that people are angry at his apparent arrogance at assuming that he's holier-than-thou by accepting a massive pension payout in return for complete failure as a business leader? _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

The pension issue is a sideshow. Can you seriously suggest that the Government being forced to pour up to £25.5billion more into RBS, as well as guaranteeing £325billion of the bank's bad debts had no effect on the country's financial situation _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

No it isn't. It's central.

That's a separate issue. The main issue here is the guy's arrogance in running off with the high pension payout that nobody has the power to remove from him. And does he give a stuff? Nope.
That, I believe, is why he's been targetted as reported. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

The vandalism of Goodwin's house was mindlessly irresponsible and cannot possibly be condoned.
So why does part of me love the perpetrators and want to have their babies?

Part of your feminine side, I should think, Ian
"A spokesman for the Royal Bank of Scotland said short-term security arrangements had been put in place at Sir Fred's Edinburgh home, and that these were still operational during the time of the attack."
That made me laugh as well! _________________ Ron |
