Since being unceremoniously shifted back an hour due to RB's arrival, Bob's Saturday night/Sunday morning show has featured live music in the 'middle hour'.
When I first heard that he was going to do this, I wasn't that pleased as it sounded like an hour less of the great tracks he normally plays at the expense of a single artist. However, a couple of sessions later and I'm warming to the idea. Although I'm not particularly fond of Brian Houston (this weekend's guest) I was slightly impressed by some of his live set.
It'll be interesting to see who he gets to come on in the coming months - he mentioned arranging for people already doing shows in London to 'pop in' after their concerts!

I'd happily have five hours of the BH show - hours 2 and 4 live sets and the rest being the old format.
What's Dame Lesley's e-mail address?

I think Bob Harris should be returned to overnight Radio 2: 12.00 - 3.00am Monday to Thursday. Move Janice Long to 3am and Alex Lester to 6am. Bob Harris is a unique broadcaster and he loves his music. |
