I think it has been reported on here that Johnnie Walker will not be covering Breakfast when the new format starts in 2010. I was wondering therefore if will be covering for Mayo on Drivetime, seems the obvious choice to me |

If only that could be true. For some reason he doesn't seem to be in favour else why would you waste such an excellent broadcaster/presenter? _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

You know I'd not even thought about who would cover for Simon Mayo with all the hype about Evans!
It would be great to have him but realistically, would you sit in on the show you were told to quit?

That's a difficult one Helen, I probably wouldn't but JW doesn't get much of a look in anywhere. More's the pity! _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Clearly not.
Based on other posts on this forum, the mighty Richard Allinson is in on Drivetime early 2010. |

Yes, or even Radcliffe - he's stood in for Mayo on 5Live. |

No one has mentioned 'His Bobship' Bob Harris yet. He has always done a good job presenting Drivetime. Time to let him have a go at it a bit more often? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I guess Richard Allinson as he always seemed to be the one to cover Drivetime. I guess Simon style will also suit Richard? |

i initially thought Richard Allinson as he is sitting in during January, but then again Johnnie is doing a first rate job doing the Breakfast show, he cant do both. I just hope that Johnnie is given the job, if not then hopefully some other radio station that can be reached via DAB will snap up his services and give him a slot that merits his excellent broadcasting and presentation skills. |

Ah - that could explain why he's not doing Christmas drivetime - perhaps he's going to be rolled out more frequently. Only thing is we'd have three hours of Bob on a Thursday which, as happy as I would be with that, may not be to everyone's taste. |

Bob Harris is doing Drivetime over Xmas/New Year.
Try tuning in on New Years Day at 5pm. |

That's fantastic news! Are those last minute changes? What a fine way to kick off the new year. |

Must be a last minute change, I thought he'd said he wasn't covering those shows. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
