what a shame
(ok, I'm going, I'm going! I'll go away and moan about him with the other moany people
no, I'm not bothered really - never have opportunity to listen to drivetime anymore - used to love coming home from school and listening to Johnnie Walker or Stuart Maconie though
and whatever happened to sweet little Martin the business dude - why did he have to be replaced???? _________________ I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. |

I wonder how many people have missed him this time around? Time will tell as it's been quite a long time since he's been on drivetime. Certaintly Mark has kept it running in his own brillant unique style. |

Not me, sorry. I'm sure many have, though. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I thought Bob Harris was pretty good as his replacement, not listened that much to the others. But it will be nice to have Chris back next week. I'd like Bob Harris to choose some of the music, tho! |

I was only thinking that myself this evening as I toiled away in the garage.
Evans has been pleasantly missing from my radio for ages! It's been great! |

Yes, that would be great! First thing I do on a Sunday morning when listening again to his Saturday show is look at the playlist and see what's coming up! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I texted Mark this evening, in response to him asking why listeners didn't want Monday to come; my message was simple "cause CE is back". Needless to say, he never read it out, can't think why

Heard the trailer for Chris' show this morning on the way to work! Almost stayed on Radio 2 then after the news item about how film production in Britain had doubled in the past year, Wogan weighed in saying he deserves a tax break rather than the film industry!
How out of touch & dim can anyone be? At least Chris can be relied on NOT to keep blurting out stupid remarks like that
Who can replace Wogan? |

Clive55, have you never heard of irony, or humorous banter? I would suggest that your senses may have been battered by listening to Evans. Wogan was having a little joke. _________________ MiS |

Yeah, I was just feeling a bit grouchy because my train was late!
I feel better now. Wogan is OK.
But great to have Evans back on board for drive time! He'll make the train on the homeward journey roll along smoothly, I warrant! |

My new Aimee Mann and Kate Aumonier CDs got an airing in the car tonight after 5pm as I negotiated the usual traffic chaos. What I need is an internet connection in the car so I could "Listen Again" to something else on R2. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I like it when he says at 7pm 88291fm this is radio 2 from the bbcccccccc in a sarcastic manner. |

If he says "Goodbye" at 7pm, that would be my favourite part - but then I can't even bear to listen to his trailers! _________________ MiS |

Did anyone hear the Irvin Berlin medley he played soon after 5PM? Marvelous! He nabbed it from Friday Night Is Music Night. Good taste, & it sounded just fine on the homebound train It was on his new slot Don't Tell Me This Doesn't Make You feel Better.
It will be Sallys choice tommorow, then the listeners. I hope it is kept to the same high standard |
