I hadn't twigged, until it was mentioned elsewhere, but Britain's favourite, warm-hearted sitcom of 2009 carries a dark and deliberate ongoing joke.
Can you spot what it is...?
Cast of characters
Gavin Shipman and Stacey West
Mick and Pam Shipman
Gwen and Jason West
Bryn West
Dawn and Pete Sutcliffe
Poor taste, and, I reckon, just one letter away from being malicious. _________________ Ron |

Of course... I've been racking my brains trying to think who it was that mentioned it!
I haven't seen the programme but if it is deliberate, then I think it's a bit sick and typical of today's so called comedians. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

It took you 3 whole series to twig? Look, it may be in bad taste but at least the show was funny - good on them for packing it in before it got stale. _________________ MiS |

Yes, OK, an indication of how thick I am sometimes, and a reflection on how common such atrocities are these days that it is so easy for the names to merge into relative obscurity. Didn't hear KB mentioning it - it has just come up on another small forum I visit.
I agree it was amusing, and generally warm-hearted, though Rob Bryden always makes me cringe, and stopped at the right time. _________________ Ron |

Definitely not thick, Ron - I could take all day listing the things I haven't picked up on
Know what you mean about Brydon - though compared to some other stand-ups I could name he's relatively harmless. Michael Mcintyre drives me to the off switch ... _________________ MiS |
