If it's not bad enough that we have the CE dross on at breakfast time, today my alternative listening isn't available! Any suggestions why? Is it some dire plot to force me to listen to the shouty one? Incidentally is there a photo in existence of CE with his mouth shut? |

Great, my new routine disrupted and why? Are we allowed to know, or is it a BBC secret? _________________ MiS |

Try asking why on the BBC R2 Message board.... when it opens that is...... We've settled on 5 live.
And no, I don't think there is a picture of CE with his mouth closed, perhaps because it never is. Today's ice skating picture on the R2 Home page is a particular case in point. Incidentally, is there ever a day when his picture doesn't feature on the home page?
What amazes me though, is that on the list of most popular "listen again" shows, yesterday's Breakfast show always tops the list. Can that really be true? _________________ Minx

It's not showing as being available on her home page today though.
I've asked the question on the R2 boards but I won't hold my breath. No doubt it will be a problem with loading it to a satellite or they have lost the programmes from it............

Not available again today. I'm sure it is a plot. |

We've opted for Radcliffe and Maconie this morning. It's quite good - they sound really high! Yet somehow it's not quite the same irritant that the live alternative would be. _________________ Minx

I've raised the question once more on the R2 boards. Not much joy though.
I listened to the second half of yesterday's this morning and had to chuckle at Sarah's comment after that annoying trailer for the Sports Relief Mile that 'Radio 2 seems be over run with children'....................

Yes that remark made me smile as well, Helen. I think that they are not making the Dawn Patrol available as "Listen Again" so that it won't beat CE's show in the ratings. |

I can't say I'm surprised, perhaps Sarah read out too many of the emails she's receiving about how peeps are listening again to avoid having to listen to evans crap. |

I'm sure there won't be an Armageddon just because dawn patrol is late being posted on iplayer, talk about a big fuss over nothing. |

Of course it isn't a disaster Toggy and I didn't suggest it was, but it is irritating since the Dawn Patrol has become my breakfast time listening. Having it available later in the day isn't the same. |

No there won't be an Armageddon. But as I pay towards the cost of R2, and as there is an alternative to the Breakfast "experience" as it has now become, it's reasonable to expect that alternative to be available with some degree of reliability. If it's not, there's nothing wrong with expressing some degree of dissatisfaction, surely. Or as non-CE fans, do we somehow have less right to our opinions? _________________ Minx

100% agree with Minx and Essexlady. Bad enough that we have had breakfast radio ruined, surely they can arrange it so SK is available to fill the gap? _________________ MiS |

I see it's there today!
I had R4 on for an hour or so and I've had it on for about half an hour so not sure when it came on.

Not at all Minx, i was just trying to grasp how somebody else's failure to post Sarah's show is the fault of Chris Evans.
Jeremy's show if often not posted for an hour or two after it's finished, is that his fault too
By the way I'm not a fan of CE, I listened for about 3 weeks and found it was not really my cup of tea. However I don't think he should be removed as there are plenty of people out there who do like him, we can't all like the same things. |

Toggy I think the reason we are so hacked off with it is the fact that it used to work so much faster.
I know shows came online within 20 minutes after they had ended. It's got worse rather than better since the listen again became totally connected with the iPlayer system.
They go 'unavailable' sooner as well. In the past I've even started to listen to the previous week's SOTS while the the latest one was broadcasting live having remembered I'd wanted to hear a particular song and had forgotten about it.
Having said that you can sometimes pick them up later on an internet radio for some reason.

8.05 - not available AGAIN
They're wasting their time if they think I'm going to put up with that Evans trash - even the trailers make me nauseous. _________________ MiS |

8.30 - NOT AVAILABLE!! This is obviously a conspiracy to make more people listen to Evans - won't work in this house! _________________ MiS |
