Enjoyed the interview and the songs tonight. I hate going to concerts, (crowd and noise are definitely not my thing) but I'd make an exception for this guy.
I think Simon Mayo is getting better on Drive, sounds more relaxed, at times a bit daringly mischievous. I like the team he has with him too, not one iota sycophantic. _________________ Minx

I missed most of it tonight but agree it's settling down.
I think Pauline is much nicer than Rebecca (?) shame she couldn't do it permanently.

Yes, Pauline has quite a distinct, earthy personality. And Matt too (the sports guy) who is reminiscent of Johnny Saunders except he's his own man. The show is definitely shaping up OK. _________________ Minx

Yes, I do tend to agree with all the above. On the Evans show the other participants are there to prop up Evans' ego whereas on Mayo's show they're there for the show. |

Just similar to what Chris Evans is doing on Breakfast. Getting better. |

I saw Don McLean years ago, he did his set, went off and totally refused to do an encore. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

I have been sort of returning to Drive. It is def getting better.
I was getting a bit tired of Evans show. Too many "wacky" features
At least he will not have the idiotic "Totally inapropriate political correspondent" when he returns
Thingy hasn't been too bad in the mornings this week, tho his laugh irritates me. And his agony uncle slot is a waste of space |

I listened to drivetime tonight, I was driving, and he's OKish but it's all a bit dull and the topics are all just kids stuff from his old R1 days (confessions, homework etc) or copied from Chris Evans show (the cooking bit on a Thursday)
..and we even had the old standin chestnut of vote for the last record
When's he going to get some new ideas ? |
