Our Polling Station is about 15 minutes walk (much further away than in the past) but that's handy because it's situation in the community hall of my mother-in-law's sheltered housing scheme, and we have to pop round there this evening anyhow!
Sorted.
And, yes, I think the turnout is likely to be higher this time round. I've been talking to several twenty-somethings who've never been inspired to vote before but who've been sufficiently energised this time. I'm glad about that, since it's there future that's on the line. |

I asked my hairdresser yesterday whether she would be voting. "Oh no," she said, "I find all those politics very confusing". Seeing my slightly aghast expression, she offered helpfully "But my boyfriend will be voting".

Nice one, Minx!
It makes you wonder whether Emmeline and her mates shouldn't have been out having a good time instead of chaining herself to railings and silly stuff like that! |

A pretty depressing carry-on today, regardless of how it all pans out.
Many Tories--of whom I am not one--will feel that David Cameron should have walked this election. Instead he actually seems to have LOST ground during the campaign.
For the record, I voted Independent, for an exceptionally strong LOCAL candidate. I don't think Hexham has declared yet, so await the outcome with interest.

Think it's due anytime now Ian.
The previous MP was my mother's cousin.

I thought the green-screen 3D graphics which Jeremy Vine fronted was way over the top and not without problems, either. He looked very self-conscious and out of place, which is not surprising given the nature of the difficult job he was given.
Top marks to David Dimbleby and the studio team in TC1, though. |

In the build up to the election I found it difficult to understand the differences in policies of the main parties, and could rarely take in anything from the leaders' speeches, but the post-election speeches today on the the 'hung' subject all made perfect sense!
For once maybe they have said what they meant! Or meant what they said? _________________ -
