Why were Simon Cowell and Ant & Dec given awards when they are everything the organisation is against?
Charlie Brooker was robbed; David Mitchell looked as if he was going to cry. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

BAFTA = British Academy of Film and Television Arts, whose mission is to
"support, develop and promote the art forms of the moving image, by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public"
They may be tacky in the extreme, but the programmes presented and produced by Messrs Cowell, McPartlin and Donnelly do illustrate excellence in their execution, inspire hundreds of thousands of people to participate, and clearly, from the audience figures, entertain millions more and even, on occasion, benefit charities.
They may have been awarded with gritted teeth in some circles, but I think it probably had to be done. Brucie's had a few in his time - what's the difference, really?
I'm sure David Mitchell and Charlie Brooker's time will come as well - to many people they are even more annoying than Ant and Dec - one is a spoilt little oik who's just too clever by half, the other one is just a spoilt little oik. _________________ Ron |

They've helped to reposition ITV Plc back into the black, so I guess without these formats there wouldn't be enough revenue to support investment in all the other stuff......
It's a dog-eat-dog existence in broadcasting these days. |

Yes, I liked the way Mitchell looked at his watch during the speech by Peter Capaldi (who'd just beaten him to Best Comic Actor). |
