Hilarious - Ken Bruce had Lady with a posh voice who claimed to be retired and her hobbies were knitting and parachute jumping. Well done Ken stopping them, then cutting into a peice of music. It's amazing the researchers let this through unless they were in on the joke.
Ken didn't see the funny side. |

It was a guy (at least I think it was!) Mark.
I guess he put on a normal voice when he spoke to researchers and then changed his guise.

It was sort of funny at first but then not really. |

I really felt for Ken - not only did he have to deal with this "joker" but he also got the score wrong which led to the wrong contestant winning
Let's hope that nothing will go wrong for a long time! _________________ MiS |

Cheers for that Gibbo. Nine times out of ten I listen to Ken's show, but managed to miss that yesterday.
She (or should that be he) got to speak for a lot longer than I expected, but once Ken sussed him it was game over. |

It'll be interesting to know how they've tightened up the screening process beforehand after that! Thank heavens for 'Listen Again', as I too, didn't hear it yesterday. Sods law isn't it?! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

That was hillarious!!
I missed it as I find Ken Bruce a trifle OTT these days & have moved over to calmer airwaves. Sad, I did used to enjoy popmaster.
I wonder if that "Contestant" was none other than... Scott nelson! |

Blimey ... first time I've ever listened to Chris Moyles. Loved the clip, but the rest of it would drive me demented!! |

Well, Popmaster today threw us up two contestants that scored 39 points. Ken's not had a 39 since May and then we get a play-off because two guys score a full house.
Unreal. |

No, they both got the prize without playoff or having to do 3 in 10 - Lynne tried that (Genesis) and failed.
One contestant was a part-time DJ and the other had been on Sky's The Music In Me and BGT. _________________ Ron |

I stand corrected. The front door went so I only heard the last bit at a muffle. |

What surprised me was when Ken said he did not remember any previous occasion when both contestants got maximum points on the same day
I am absolutely certain it has happened before at least once as I distinctly remember a time about 3 years ago and I also recall both the contestants being on Champions League Popmaster at the end of the year
Am I going completely mad and imagining it or does anyone else remember it? |

My spies tell me it was when Vicky Richardson (who a few will know) and another contestant both got 39... |

Ken thought it hadn't happened before, but you could be right, Sandra.
Vicky has recently registered here. It would be nice to see her. _________________ Ron |

It definitely happened before - and it was either late 2005 or early 2006, as I remember walking in to lectures at university as it happened. I had to give a presentation on my dissertation so that day sticks in my mind. |

Fake contestants?
R2 seems to have a fake presenter each weekday between 2 and 5pm!
