No - just chocolate! My wife found an old Easter Egg in the back of a kitchen cupboard today, and because she doesn't eat anything that's even one minute past its "use by" date, I took up the challenge of demolishing it.
It tasted fine. And it didn't take long!

I read that the eat by/use by dates are going to be phased out.
As food stuffs last longer and are edible long after the dates on the packets. Because of these dates a lot of food is being wasted yet still good to eat.... _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

I always ignore best before dates as they are just a way of producers and supermarkets trying to con us into wasting food and then buying more to replace it
However you should never ignore a use by date as going beyond this can be prejudicial to your health but do not confuse this with a sell by date now rarely seen which again is pointless
Getting back to chocolate week since we are a country where obesity is increasing at an alarming rate costing the NHS millions why can't they combine it with Easter so we get just the one hit on the chocolate pigging out thing
It really isn't good for you you know! _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Chocolate is GREAT......I dont need to have the high coco content stuff. Cadbury or Thorntons will do nicely...
I have recently returned from living in Egypt for 5 years. The Cadbury chocolate did not taste the same as the chocolate we get here. They have their own factory but the taste just was not the same as UK..

We didn't get half as many "trick or treaters" as we did last year, so regretfully I am now having to munch my way through a large basket of chockies. I will draw the line at the 'love-hearts' 'swizzels' and the chewy bars, however.
You have it to do, don't you? (sigh) _________________ Minx

I'm not one for chocolate really but I do remember a phase where I just had to have a Mint Aero...
I think Cadburys Whole Nut is my favourite munch but I always suggest to Mrs SF not to buy anymore.... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Santa do you remember the old Beech Nut Machines in the 60s
I used to love them
I mention this because as you may remember we were talking about milk machines quite recently _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Yes Ruddles.. I remember our corner shop had one mounted outside.. I seem to recall they were painted green but maybe I'm wrong...

You are right Santa they were green and white
The one in the picture I think may be from the 50s
The 60s ones were rather more streamlined
I was completely addicted to them and used to buy far more than I ever used to put in my mouth
I don't think kids would really get very exited about things like that today
Just shows what we have lost over the lst 40 years or so _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I liked Beechnut gum too... I was looking for a picture of the packet as I remember it but can't find one.
I remember the pack as about half the size of a matchbox, yellow with a green band top and bottom.. with three pieces of white gum... crispy on the outside! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

When I was at Junior School, I used to buy flat pieces of bubble gum which came wrapped with a "Flag of the World" card inside.. all powdery too!
I think I collected the whole set.. with a few "twicies" of course. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I do remember that product Santa but I don't think I ever got a full collection as I used to spend too much time putting my hard earned pocket money into Beech Nut machines
Sounds very sad today doesn't it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
