Get the overated arse out of English football. He's more interested collecting his wage packet and being in the papers. Manchester United should sell him off too the highest bidder. His private life has under performed on pitch for his club and country. |

Totally agree Mark yet again!
The only problem is that I doubt any of the large foreign clubs would want him on present form
My money is on him moving to either Chelsea or Arsenal
I've never liked him but I suppose as I am a Liverpool fan its probably par for the course _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Thanks for your opinion Mark. I disagree.
Wayne Rooney is not "overrated" - he is one of the best players in the Premiership. As for your claim that "his private life has underperformed on the pitch..." well, what can I say to that ludicrous statement? _________________ MiS |

If I was AF I'd make him sit on the bench and rot just out of principle nobody is bigger than the club _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

Trouble is if they do that, his contract runs down and MU get nothing for him. _________________ MiS |

Arrr but they get to show all players that the club are in charge. Not the player. He won't get played internationally if he's hasn't got club form, it would cost brand "Rooney" more than the club long term _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

The other thing is after leaving the club due to an argument with fergie, who has gone onto better things?
Rooney is a good player who needs to learn some respect _________________ I found out how you can hurt an insect. It's the bees knees |

Rooney is a good player who needs to learn some respect | No argument says Fergie.....
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that striker Wayne Rooney wants to leave Manchester United.
The Old Trafford boss admitted he was "shocked" and "disappointed" to hear the news but said he had not fallen out with the England international.
"We are as bemused as anyone can be, we can't quite understand why he would want to leave," said Ferguson.
Ferguson said the "door is still open" for Rooney, 24, to remain at the club he joined from Everton in 2004.

Actually, it's ruse to get all TV networks to show lots of library shots of Rooney spitting - on and off the pitch.
It worked.

Where will he go?
Chelsea? got the money but not likely, they don't need him to win the league this year
Inter ? not likely Houlier (sp) has spent enough this year and still only 3rd
Madrid or Barca ? I can't see it
So he'll end up going to Man City and there is only one reason to want to go there. Greedy barsteward _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

Quote: | Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has confirmed that he wishes to leave the club.
The 24-year-old said he will not be signing a new contract with the Old Trafford outfit following a meeting with chief executive David Gill.
"I met with David Gill last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad," said the England international.
Rooney's deal expires at the end of the 2011/2012 season |
_________
He also goes onto say he respects the club and Sir Alex Ferguson. I can't see him ever wearing a Man-United shirt again. Blame the Glaziers who have put the club into debt. |

You can blame the GLAZERS, if you like Mark...I don't think the glaziers are at fault, the windows at Old Trafford look ok to me... _________________ MiS |

The Blackpool manager on Sky today 22/10/10 really spoke sense. He said the players and their agents should not dictate to football managers what they want / do etc. This is what Rooney is doing ( or his mother in law)
If anyone has a chance to watch the interview .. he speaks sense
Not being a footie fan Rooney lost all credence during the world cup....instead of thinking he is gods gift he should be working to proove himself to his fans... _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

This whole story is living proof of the power of PR when used properly. How absolutely everyone fell into the trap. Well done folks. |

Doom and gloom over shadows this country. So Sir Alex decides lets talk about something else. Good cunning plan which obviously has gone in favour. At the end of the day what a drama story. |

Or, rather - At the end of the day what a good bit of PR.
Was Max Clifford involved here, by any chance? |

Do you think that all the HOO HA was to counteract his bad publicity. And to make him 'look good' in fans eyes?
If fans are wise they will give him the cold shoulder and ask him to grow up if he wants their respect _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

Absolutely right. This is one big and very expensive PR stunt. There's no question about it.

Trouble is that they won't. They'll continue to stump up extortionate ticket prices, pay the asking price for this year's must-have strip and also hand over pots of cash to the Murdoch Mafia for the privilege of watching matches on Sky.
One really does have to laugh at this whole sordid business, doesn't one?
(And people are such suckers) |

So what happens now, the players turned their backs on him when he claimed they were not good enough to win, now he's got his 30 pieces of silver, will they accept him back. |

Pay them all four pounds twenty and a bag of chips per game. Then we'd soon see which players are playing for the love of football, rather than the fame and fortune it can bring. _________________ Put some records on while I pour |
