I think that this is an outstanding series and should be repeated sometime in the future. Guy Barker, apart from being a terrific trumpet-player and occasional bandleader, obviously knows his subject inside out and it has been fascinating.
Last week it reached the era of Bebop which is not so much to my taste but on the other hand he gave good musical illustrations of how and why the style was developing from as early as the late thirties.
