Wise words from property developer Irvine Sellar. Just as well he didn't actually build the thing.
The only other remotely favourable comment about The Shard, in this little film from the BBC

was "Phenomenal"
The views from various levels may be stunning, on a clear day, but the building itself looks.....

It looks unfinished. Must be a nightmare cleaning the windows. It's not straight. It won't be there in a 100 years time. Would have been a more impressive feat of engineering if it was the other way up. Thin at the bottom- fat at the top. Would have been worth more too- room for lots more posh flats at the top.
A good view though and it does make for a good landmark, if you're lost- head for the Shard and you'll find Waterloo is not far away. |
