A department store near us opens its Christmas section around the August Bank holiday each year. And the town's Christmas lights are being switched on on 1st November this year! |

As someone who lives with a person who works at Argos HQ i know full well that now is the period when people starting buying for Christmas, so it makes sense. And with shareholders and 32,000 employees to look after it's understandable.
Personally, I find it offensive to hear all the usual crap being played on retailers' sound systems in stores from Nove 1st onwards (and earlier in some places).
Christmas is just a heap of BS. |

Radio never plays 'Jesus is coming' by The Bellamy Brothers for some reason. Must be the use of the word 'p1$$ed!' As in 'off' not in the UK vernacular for being drunk. |

Tha Argos add is filmed in Newcastle upon Tyne. Anyone who knows their Geordie landmarks should be able to recognise them.
