Basically the midweek night time shows from midnight (Janice Long & Alex Lester) come from Birmingham. Alas there is never a webcam on with Janice (but I suspect it's the same studio that Mo Dutta uses) but Alex always has it on during his show (I'm sure Mark has a piccy in his library. I do but, as I previously said, I don't know how to put them on here) so he can display the prizes you can win on his show. Stuart had the webcam on when he first started on Saturdays and it was the same studio as Alex Lester. |

It's Dermot's studio obviously - the lights are on but there's no-one at home! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Following the distress caused by Dermot's cardigan last week Lesley decided that the tank top looked better in the dark. |

That doesn't look like a familiar studio. Certainly not like the Sarak Kennedy / Ken Bruce one or Terry Wogan / Jeremy Vine studio.
Any ideas? |

Doesn't even look like 6 music, at least not the ones I've seen. I'm wondering if it's the Steve Wright studio, as I read that he uses a different one to everyone else. |

'His Bobship' Bob harris. Top man. Webcam often is on with his Saturday show nowadays, occasionally he comes from another studio and all you get is an empty studio. |

It's called radio entertianment?
We know he's a stand up comedian, but surley he didn't have to do the actions on the radio. |

wasn't standing up in office meetings or radio studios a fad a few years ago to keep things more exciting...I don't think it works in this case. |

Hey - there's da man!
No live set this week, unfortunately, but he played some great tracks all the same (David Berkeley, Megson, Karine Polwart, Antje Duvekot and Judie Tzuke).... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

You'd think with the wages he gets he would be able to afford some decent clobber.... unless of course the money just gets up his nose! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

As a registered, official, joined the club, I've got the teashirt Chris Evans hater..... you may be surprised that...
I actually don't mind Russell Brand from what I've heard of him, which was only one radio show I hasten to add.
If he toned it down a little, I think he would be quite entertaining. A little like Kenneth Williams maybe? yes.
I just wish he would cut out all the completely unnecessary swearing on his TV show.
He could do well without it.
Not Radio 2 material though.
But, bearing in mind his delivery style, I can quite understand the reason for standing up. |

I still don't understand the whole standing up thing - I wouldn't want to have to stand that long!!
But I can't comment on anything else about his show because I've never listened to it _________________ I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. |

I would imagine Russell likes to move about and throw his arms around whilst delivering some of his crazy stuff.
Perhaps sitting in a chair makes him feel restricted. I can understand that.
Didn't I see Phil Jupitas standing up on his show on 6?
I reckon Kenny Everett did the same also. |

I reckon he bases himself on a hyped-up Kenny Everett (as opposed to the Steve Wright dumbed-downed version) maybe mixed with Kenneth Williams or similar.. |

Maybe. Do I take it you've heard him too Nod? what did you think.
It has to be a good thing for radio when someone comes along with a different presenting style once in a while.
I'm no fan of Allinson or O'Leary and I find them dull along with some others! listenable but nothing to write home about either.
There has to be something more than their "safe" type shows. |

I can't say I listened to an entire show but have caught some of a couple of his saturday shows, and seen some of his TV show on Ch4...I have to say it's not my thing. I used to enjoy Kenny Everett, the Young Ones, Alexis Sayle and other outrageous things but I find RB just to be schoolboy humour and drival. OK in the right place but not R2. |

I emailed Bob to thank him for the xmas drivetime shows. I received a lovely reply thanking me for my kind comments and he said he really enjoyed doing 'drive'. How many other presents would be this generous?
I also asked him who the guy is opposite him on the web cam pic on his Saturday show (not the same guy in Marks pic) and he said it was Phil Swern |
