The BBC must know by now but prefer to keep everyone guessing
I'm fairly sure they will have cover presenters until January and then offer the job to Lynn Parsons after she finishes her current stint on Smooth
I really hope so as I am enjoying her show on Smooth even despite the interruptions by the obligatory adverts and I do think she does try her best to personalise the show rather than simply be a link woman like many of the presenters on commercial radio
Trouble is I'll have to find a way of recording any early breakfast show she presents on Radio 2 otherwise I'll be totally knackered with all the early morning starts! |

Assuming that she loves presenting a radio show, and that she would be ideal "cover" for other shows on Smooth, why would she want to go from doing four hours 6-10 to one-and-a-half 5-6.30?
Other than for same or more money.
In which case the Beeb would be paying over the odds. _________________ Ron |

The BBC couldn't really press release to say Lynn Parsons is taking over Dawn Patrol in January when she's on another national radio station. It would look really stupid and take the limelight off Smooth. This is if Lynn is too take the job. Maybe Tony Blackburn will? |

Lynn won't be doing the 6 to 10am slot on Smooth when Simon Bates arrives there in January so I would think if Radio 2 offer her the early morning breakfast slot she would take it even with the unsocial hours
Personally I'd like to hear her on the network in a regular daytime slot preferably 6.30 to 9.30am but that's about as likely as me becoming Prime Minister! |

I will only listen to Early Breakfast if it's presented by Felicity Kendal.
I've always had a longing to be awakened in the morning by the sound of her voice....... _________________ -

No, no, no, no, no. Not in a million years. Nothing personal but just because you'd like it to be true don't make it so. Lynn Parsons is very much a temp stand-in on BBC radio and a third rate one at that. Her particular brand of housewife's choice could never command a permanent scheduling with the current management nor would she fit in with the morning audience as it stands now.
She's nearly as sackless as Sarah Kennedy, just without the rancour, the racism and the petit bourgeois snobbery. _________________ God's Jukebox my arse. |

Sorry Dude I have to disagree
Lynn is the best female presenter I have heard in a long time and although I don't think women should be promoted purely on a gender basis alone I think Lynn does a great job whatever network she is on and deserves the slot on merit
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens but I suspect there won't be any announcement from the BBC until December |

Yes I'm watching them Gibbo and they're really good
These episodes are still great viewing all these years later and perhaps this may be because they have never been constantly repeated unlike some other comedy shows
As for John wanting to be wakened by Felicity I think she'd probably get Columbus the cocquerel in to do the job!! |
