A thread about the football!
Poland 1-1 Greece
Very exciting start! Czezny rightly sent off and what a Euro debut for the sub goalie!
Russia 4-1 Czech
Stunning skills and goals.
Really enjoyable football so far.
* Why can't England never play such exciting games? _________________ -

Because England are boring and always have been boring, even in 1966. |

I thought Germany vs Portugal would have had quite a few good goals..... I thought Portugal would have performed better, Germans were lucky, yes, lucky deflection onto Gomez' head! _________________ -

We've taken a draw against the French. Well done England....
I think the ref was blinkered - or did he have a French connection.
Sweden V England - Friday 15th June & England V Urkraine -Tuesday 19th June |

Ha, yes, predictably boring game against France.....
But of course it's a good result in that group. England can win the other two games..... _________________ -

While others were watching "the game" I was in the garden in the rain watching the grass grow. By all accounts I experienced the most excitement!!! |

England are not failures. Footballers need to think more about their job than earning all the money? This is a failure in the English game of football. Yes - we have players in the game who play for English clubs, but there passion starts at a younger age.
England need to play at TOP club football as international level. We look exhausted.
This starts from the FA upwards. The restructure of season premiership football needs to be looked at - given the boys who are in the England team time to build together. Meeting up for friendlies for a few days then off back to their clubs isn't helping. There needs to be a break to help build for the Euros and World Cups if we want to win. |

The England side "is" a failure. After 2 hours not a single goal was scored. That wasn't a football game, that was just a run around the park. |

The only crumb of comfort I can glean from this is that they did at least try this time and it wasn't deemed necessary to sneak the team out of a back door at whatever airport they arrived at on their return to England, unlike the world cup of two years ago! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
