I'm probably very late to the game with both of these but watched episodes with friends in Texas last week that they thought we'd enjoy.
Anyone know where and when they were on or is it just box sets now? I'm sure I read something about Madam Secretary only a few weeks ago but then forgot about it.

I have watched and been a fan of The Good Wife ever since it started,Helen. It is a consistently, excellent drama I believe the 7th series (season if you're American. ) has just started over there so hopefully it won't be long before it's on our screens too.
I've heard of Madam Secretary but that's all. |

Madame Secretary finished it's first season about a month or two ago on Sky Living - the box set is available now I think. The second season probably won't be broadcast until about Easter I would think,
Though it was a slow start- trying to be the West Wing but it picked up and is definitely worth a watch.
Speaking of the glorious West Wing, Sky Atlantic started repeating it from the beginning this week at 5pm. If you've never seen it sit back and enjoy. _________________ The wheel keeps on turning...

It was an odd thing ,for me, with The West Wing,Foggy. I thought it would be just up my street but I couldn't get into it.
I don't have Sky Atlantic or I might have given it another go. |

I said I was slow on the uptake Becky but I can't imagine how I missed 6 seasons! It was an episode of the 7th that we would have been watching. I'll look out for box sets of earlier seasons.
Again it was an episode from the 2nd season of Madam Secretary that we saw so another box set to search out or look out for a re run of the first series.
Thanks.

The 7th season of the Good Wife starts on More 4 Thursday Jan 28!
We found season 6 on All 4 at the beginning of this month and have been seriously ODing on it (there are 22 episodes in a season ) before the expiry date of Thursday! Watched the last one tonight so we just made it, phew, I can get a life again.

Very much Becky. I think we'll let 3 or 4 weeks of episodes pile up before starting again though! I may try and find a DVD of the earlier series.
I've also been recording the first series of Madam Secretary which has been on Sky Living 3 or 4 times a week at weird times but won't watch it yet as it has no expiry date.
Our friends in the US said this week that they have heard that Madam Secretary won't get a 3rd series but things can change.

Recommended,Helen...I've watched it from the very beginning and the standard (as I've mentioned before) has stayed consistently high throughout. |

The Good Fight a spin off from the Good Wife starts on More 4 Thursday 9 pm. It features Diane Lockhart and Lucca from the original series and as I read in Sunday Times they have already commissioned a 2nd series.
Going back to the original series, did anyone recognise the guy who played her husband? His name is Gary Coleman who was the Midnight Caller back in the late 80s/90s. The BBC1 series was about a late night DJ on a San Francisco radio station who got involved with crimes his that his callers found themselves caught up in (that's my memory of it anyway!). It took me a while to work out why I recognised him!
Anyway I hope the new series is as good as the original.

"What you talkin' 'bout, Willis?"
Gary Coleman played Arnold in Diff'rent Strokes.
Gary Cole was the Midnight Caller....I remember him from that too,Helen.
I will watch a couple of the new series and see how it goes..I used to love The Good Wife.
I'll set the recorder....thanks for posting. |
