Listened to the last episode today and was pleased that Bill said he would be back in the autumn with another one.
It really cheered me as so many changes have left me not listening to very much at all these days. Not all the presenters' fault, but nothing much holds my attention much at the moment. _________________ 88 - 91 FM this is Radio 2 from the BBC!

I'm watching the Everton Vs Man Utd game and the camera turned to a couple of gents watching the game and the name Bill Kenwright was mentioned by the commentator. Is this the same Bill Kenwright as we're discussing here? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

It was only a brief reference Helen, no mention of Radio 2 and his fans! |

A very late shout out (a week actually ) to say that Bill has a new series 2nd episode tonight at 10pm.
Don't know how I missed the first, and it's only because Simon Mayo gave the evening's remaining schedule that I knew about it.
Reminder to oneself 'read the radio schedules of the R Times'........

Because I've recorded Bill's programmes before on my TV,Helen, they automatically record when a new series start...I meant to flag it up on here, but forgot.
I have two now to listen to... |

Bill is the subject for this week's FNIMN hosted by Don Black. I remember hearing the trails for tickets for the live recording a few weeks ago, so I hope it's as good as predicted.

I thought it was a bit of a luvvie love-in,Helen, but good old Don Black saved it from being too sugary sweet with his witty comparing.
Bill is a very sentimental man and he was in his element ...even sang a song. Smile
Overall I enjoyed it! |

Thanks Helen.
Having his radio show to do should take Bill's attentions away from his football club for a little while...I think he will welcome that..
He mentioned a book, in his programme, that sounded interesting...will be having a look for it. |

I've not heard it yet Becky as I recorded it on the Sky box so I can listen away from the laptop which doesn't have good speakers. Also no use by date as the iPlayer has!
He needs a distraction from 'his' team that is for sure!

Caught up earlier with one of Bill's programmes from a couple of weeks ago and his opening record (Ain't That A Shame) was a reminder of the sad loss of the rock 'n' roll legend Fats Domino. Bill said he could fill a whole series of programmes with stories about him...he told a couple. One was when Elvis was doing a press junket and he was asked how it felt to be called the King of rock 'n' roll and he answered 'I'm not the King of rock 'n' roll, he is" and he pointed to Fats Domino who had just entered the room at the back.
Nice story about Clint Walker ..I used to love Cheyenne.. Bill said he saw him on a TV show recently .... he is still going strong at 91 years young..
Another great programme from Bill. |

The new series of 6 shows started tonight! I've not heard a single trailer so just as well I heard Simon Mayo give a 'heads up' tonight!

Always good to have Bill back. Had a good laugh at his 'Our Tom/Artom' story.
He played two great favourites of mine
Tears on My Pillow ~ Little Anthony & The Imperials
and
Passing Strangers ~ Billy Eckstine and Sarah Vaughan...what voices they had. |
