Rotten 'luck of the draw'.
Dan Evans and Cameron Norrie will play one another in the first round of the Australian Open.
They are the only Britons in the men's event, with Kyle Edmund missing through injury and Andy Murray unable to travel because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Cracking semifinal at the French Open yesterday with Djokovic beating Nadal. Can't see young Tsitsipas overcoming Djokovic tomorrow in the final. |

I missed it Eileen but (no consolation) my daughter told me what a cracker of a match it was.
Rooting for Tsitsipas today. Hoping the match will still be going after the football.
(Cricket well and truly finished. ) |

I thought the Final was terrific with spectacular rallies and some "impossible" shots. Djokovic's long experience and mental stamina came to his aid but I'm sure Tsitsipas is a future Grand Slam winner. |

Queens this week. I watched Dan Evans play really well to win his match today and then what a joy it was to see Andy back on court, playing and moving well and winning his match too. He was quite emotional in the post-match interview as he was so relieved to be competing again after so many setbacks. |

I watched Andy's match today, lovely to see him playing on grass once again.
He's such a lovely man. Wears his heart on his sleeve and I hope all stays well with him for the rest of Queens and Wimbledon. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

It was great to see Andy playing again. He was moving well.
Did anyone see the prematch interview where he was congratulated on the birth of their 4th baby?
The interviewer messed up his question and aasked Andy how they had managed that....
Andy was most amused - the question was supposed to be about how he managed to find time to train and help out with 4 little ones. |

I saw that. Andy's dry sense of humour made the most of it! _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Andy said: "Well, it is obvious how we managed it ... "
Looking forward to the final at Queen's tomorrow - Berretini vs Cam Norrie. |

A lot was made of Andy dropping out of the singles in Tokyo, but to me, he knew he had no realistic hope of doing well, especially with Djokovic playing, so it made sense to concentrate on the doubles. I'd go as far as to say that's probably his best bet for the future. That way, he can enjoy his tennis and reduce the risks of more injury, and at the same time prolong his career. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Andy cheated out of a famous victory. Far too much gamesmanship goes on in Tennis these days. Djokovic is a master at these black arts, but Cheatalopolous has taken it to another level. Eight minutes, while Andy and his dodgy hip sit there fuming. They should be made to forfeit the match. It's supposed to be a sport. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

The Rad...Bromley's finest. It was plain to see at Wimbledon, what a star she was going to be. But to come from then, when she was overwhelmed with nerves, to play in front of New Yorkers and having to qualify to do so, well...she is amazing. Wonderful to witness such a talent. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Andy played amazingly well. It was good to see him looking so fit. Such a shame the draw worked out that way, I would have liked him to get the chance to get a few more points to raise his ranking.
Djokovic always has been a cheat.
I'm not surprised Andy was so cross but I felt he went a bit far with his tweet the next day. A little unecessary and a bit bullying - and what happened to 'Be kind'?
! was reading something Maria Sakkari said about Tsitsipas. She knows him well - being another Greek player. She said 'We all have a friend who takes longer to do things than we do'. That rang a bell with me, my daughter is like that.... She said she didn't think he would be doing these things on purpose.
I hope she's right, Tsitsipas is a great player and I would hate him to spoil his game with unsportsman like behaviour. Maybe this might wake him up.
We watched Emma play in the 'Battle of the Brit's' last year and said she had great potential, I didn't expect it to be so soon though. Fingers crossed she does well tonight - and the British media don't put too much pressure on her! |

I don't have much hope on that score as it has already started. It is just to be hoped that she can cope with it. Read an article about how much money she can expect to earn in the foreseeable future but I'm sure that was the last thing on her mind when she played the winning shot in her last match.
Channel 4 are showing the final tonight.
Fingers crossed for her. |

Well she did it!
Great match, great win and a great night for British tennis.
Hopefully there will be many more in the future. |

It was a fantastic match with both players producing amazing shots. I watched it on the Travelodge TV while I was staying in Worksop for a week. |

After the first set it looked as if Rafa was going to pay for his night out at the Stade de France but in true champion style he came through.
Didn't see all of it as I was flitting back and forth between this and the play off match at Wembley but thoroughly enjoyed what I did see.
Look forward to seeing more of Felix.
Best wishes to Rafa for Tuesday. |

It was a great match between Rafa and Felix. I'll be backing Rafa against cheat Djokovic on Tuesday. I very much regret that the latter got away with his shifty behaviour over his application to play in the Australian Open. I guess the Russian invasion of Ukraine grabbed the headlines at just the right time for him and everyone seems to have forgotten about it. I haven't ... |

....nor me,Eileen.
'Shifty behaviour' it was alright.
And his Dad said that the way his son has been treated in Australia was comparable to the crucifixion of Jesus - ridiculous man.
Sounded like some of the crowd in France aren't that keen on him either - there were some boos when his name was mentioned after Rafa's match. |

Well that was a great match - going back and forth but with the right result, as far as I'm concerned.
When it looked like it was going to go the distance I nearly went to bed but Rafa turned it round (persuading me to stay up) and came through in the tie-break!
I watched King Richard a while ago and it reminds you of the time and effort great players put into their profession. Great film.

It was a delight watching Roger and Rafa playing together, in a double's match, at the Laver Cup last night.
Would have been ideal for Roger to go out on a win, in his last match, but it wasn't to be.
I left it at one set all (it was after midnight) but recorded it so will catch up with it later. |

Always felt he is dodgy - and that he has a magic potion when he goes off at the end of a set. |

I know you have, Red. Tbh, that was a big reason why I put it up, even though you'd probably heard/read about it last week. It was the surreptitious way his team were acting, that shook me. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
