Thanks Barty and Dalmatina for the efforts there.
If any other 'positive' messages are posted on R2MB that you think might be quickly removed, by all means post them HERE to save them!

This just posted by someone called 'Keith' on the R2 board. Does anyone know if what he writes has any truth in it?
It would also appear that the News & Views Board, invented to con the BBC Trust that Radio 2 actually had a "feedback loop" for the "customer" has been removed, more or less as soon as the BBC Trust's review of the Radio 2 Licence is over. |

Why doesn't that surprise me?
The BBC really are in a shocking state these days. |

BBC Trust in 'wool over eyes' moment?
I'm surprised the 'Radcliffe and Maconie three nights?' thread lasted as long as it did to be fair.
Again, I don't tend to do paranoia, but you do find yourself asking these questions when haste is used to get shot of an entire message board. |

On 22 August I wrote what I thought was a very polite request for the moderators to look into the unhappy situation regarding the way that even a request for advice was removed from the board, but that very rude and insulting and repetetive remarks were allowed to remain,
what was the reply, you've guessed it
"the moderators found that it broke the house rules so it has been removed" |

I've been dipping into the R2MB throughout today and I'm greatly amused to see the number of posts that have been modded for no apparent reason.
It's all very interesting.................. |

So am I. It's a pity that we can't somehow save that 545 message thread for posterity. |

Hi Sadie
Did you start a new thread? You may have had more luck with that, but I can see why you are wary of starting another.
Do you know how long you have been in Pre Mod? I do remember someone asking Peta to look into his/her long term situation some months back and I think it was sorted out. Things may have changed since then though. Writing to the address may be your best way forward.

I have got to the point of thinking why should I bother, it would seem I may be busy enough here, I shall probably burst into verse before long. |

That's true but it sounds like it's been overlooked for some reason. Glad you're enjoying it here!

Success! You never know when you may want to use the login for other parts of the BBC.

Hello everyone, have found my way across here from the coffee shop which is now having it's closing down sale! I'm just avoiding watching the football on the telly. Now I've found you look forward to seeing one of Sadie's poems. Don't feel too despondent now. |

Hiya Gutsy how ya doing
The other place has gone to ruin
Never mind I'm full of cheer
Someone's not allowed in here
I'm no longer on pre mod
It's been lifted, my that's odd
From folks in here I asked advice
And it was sorted in a trice

We ALL know who is to blame for the R2MB's closure - don't we? |

I know who you're actually getting at (not without justification) but actually the people to blame are the managers at BBC Online who allowed the R2MB to be managed in the way it was. |

Agreed. Can't really think that SN was to blame. |

The thing is though - it's not just the Radio 2 board - that's just the latest and obviously the one that affects us most as Radio 2 listeners. It's a systematic thing - the POV Radio boards, Radio 5, Radio 1, now Radio 2, Inside6, the Strictly boards etc. Seems pretty obvious the BBC just want shot of messageboards altogether.
Gavin's Station (another forum I signed up to the same time I signed on here) is run by ex Radio 5/POV posters and there's a whole load of history and background information on there, most of which of which I was completely unaware tbh, having merrily poodled along posting on the Radio 2 board all these years and not taking a lot of notice of what was going on elsewhere. |
