I have heard 2-3 new voices reading the news on Radio 2 at the weekend.
i think 2 female and one new male (Jim )possibly.
Any one else heard new names reading the news on the hour? _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

I haven't heard them myself as I don't listen that much at weekends. John Marsh is retiring this year so 'Jim' may be a replacement for him in due course. |

John Marsh is retiring? I didn't think he was that old! _________________ Eternal nothingness is fine if you happen to be dressed for it. |

I think it's ripe time, that Lesley began employing more women as hosts. Don't know where she'll find them from, but surely to god there are women out there who could slip nicely into Radio 2? |

I think of Lesley as being a bit like Herr Thatcher when it comes to employing women. If I've got my facts straight, in her eleven years in office, Mags, failed to put another woman into her Cabinet of twenty or so males - with the short-lived exception of Baroness Young. Her ministerial appointments amounted to only eight women, only one of whom rose higher than the ranks of junior minister.
So maybe Les, likes the idea of being 'The Only Girlie In The Village' with a casting couch in her office. _________________ Eternal nothingness is fine if you happen to be dressed for it. |

That's a rather frightening thought, Natasha.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
