I predict that next year Evans will have a Friday night chat show which will occupy the slot currently occupied by the unimpressive Rob Brydon chat show and - before it - the long-running Jonathon Ross show.
Just a hunch - but things are pointing to that, aren't they?
If that becomes reality, it will be another excellent reason to have another pint or three in the pub. |

This just gets worse and worse. Is he going to take over the world next or has he already!?!
I already struggle with trying to find decent radio in the morning. At the moment I just about cope as I can listen to radio 2 before 7 but after that it's a choice of local radio (our presenter here has a voice just as annoying as CE) or Absolute/Smooth where the adverts are now driving me mental
So my answer now seems to be CBeebies or Breakfast Time, great. |

Look out Mr Cameron, look out Mr Clegg
Just watch you backs I would venture to beg
Look out at the Vatican
Look out at Buck House
Beware a usurper
Will try you to oust
Will he turn up on strictly
Or the antiques road show
Perhaps songs of praise, I really don't know
But I now approach my radio and TV with dread
For I'm scared to think where he will next show his head |

I wonder I much this going to cost us, sorry the BBC, there must be a big fat pay rise that goes with an extra thirty minutes.
I give up, the station has totally lost its way, they might as well bring Russell Brand back to take over Aled's Good Morning Sunday slot. If I didn't have a computer and the ability to listen again, I would never listen to Radio Two now, it's regular daytime output is boring, puerile rubbish. Thank God for Janice, Alex, R&M and Richard, without them they may as pull the plug and scuttle the ship. |

Moonraker I agree with you. The station has totaly lost its way.
So now we all know that Sarah Kennedy was pushed out by the "favoured one" the listening figures will somehow be massaged by the management to justify the move - I despair - what the hell have they done with my Radio 2. To think they have given that "cretin" the whole morning, thanks to Bob Shennan and Mark Thopson for really being in touch with what Radio 2 is all about. Radio 2 Dumb Down for idots, sorry to be a touch "aggressive in tone to the Evans Fans, but this news has really hit a nerve. |

Having complained that Evans seems to be everywhere on the BBC at the moment, I happened to be watching the live insert into BBC Breakfast from the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor. And who appeared on the screen being interviewed?
Yep, you guessed it. I was just about to throw something at the screen when....
...... the satellite link went down.
See? There is justice after all. Well done to the guys at SIS Links - my tenner bribe was worth every penny. |

Like you I also have trouble getting a decent radio station - I do not have iplayer or my pc around my neck, I liked to listen to live radio, with news updates etc.,whilst driving but now breakfast and drive in silence. Thank you BBC for spending the licence fee payer's money so wisely! Anybody who lives in West Oxfordshire who can pick up a decent station - please let me know. |

I feel really sorry for you Jill and everyone else who live in areas where new technology seems to have passed them by
By now everyone should be able to receive decent broadband at the very least
I regularly visit a remote valley in South Wales which has the same problem and everyone has to have Sky even to watch normal terrestial TV
Its like regressing 30 years and to me its lovely and peaceful but if I lived there I think there may be disadvantages radio wise
Right now I'm feeling in a really good mood listening to Lynn Parsons on Smooth and it makes a great change to have a really good breakfast show
So good in fact I think I'll have to delay switching over to Radio 2 until 10am but I certainly won't miss Popmaster
Sorry Jill didn't mean to rub it in and I hope you find something good soon |

Leaked on the day that Graham Norton's new show started. Let's think: what broadcaster with his own publicity machine would feel the need to make sure that story ran just at the very moment that another broadcaster could be attracting headlines? |

Exactly. If Bob Shennan can't keep his staff under control, then we should get someone whom can. It might seem like a small thing now that it’s in the past but this is about “character”. Keeping a secret is easy- just don’t tell anyone. How hard can that be? Blowing a corporate secret before the release date is like stabbing everyone you work with in the chest.
The Staff at Radio 2 must be feeling pretty disappointed with the source of the leak.
I see there’s’ a face saving retrospective Press Release now.

Which hints that there's a good few people working at Western House who are far from happy at the way things are being run..... just like I've been saying for ages (and the reason I was comprehensively banned from posting on BBC messageboards!).

Bob Shennan, Controller, BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, comments: "Chris has proved so popular with the Radio 2 listeners that it makes sense to give him a little extra time, even though he'll have to move his alarm clock forward."

That press release was obviously prepared sometime last week. Usually it's the Daily Mail that gets wind of them; did they think that their interview with Sarah on Sunday was worth more and turned down the chance of the scoop? _________________ Ron |

To be fair Evans isn't the only one who spills the beans ahead of official announcements.
Step forward Richard Madeley who has told us he is to be given a weekend show.
And today we learn here that Richard Aliinson is sitting in for Ken Bruce at Christmas. Where did that come from?
If Janice Long and The Dark Lord were to have their shows extended also this change would actually save the BBC some money. |

Exactly- the place is out of control.
This is the BBC we’re talking about-the pinnacle of Corporate Broadcasting excellence. The World’s leading Broadcasting and Corporate role model- the standard bearer that all other broadcasters aim to emulate. Radio 2 is threatening that position by behaving like an unruly child at the moment- they can’t even keep a lid on their own future press announcements. Radio 2 has become an embarrassment to the BBC. Someone needs to take control of it:- sharpish! |

There’s a big difference though, Tireecoll, between, illegally leaking something with a malevolent intent,( the MoD leak last week) and leaking something because the leakee thinks it’s ok to do so and they won’t get in any trouble if/when caught and who will care anyway. If you accept that it’s ok to leak things- you change the organisation at a stroke- it becomes a free for all- the boss doesn’t care what we do as long as we bring home the bacon. Where does it stop? Will it be ok for Radio 2 presenters to Kneecap people for not listening? Where is the line? Who's in charge? |

Oh why not just rename it Radio Evans and have done with it
The only daytime show I listen to now is Ken B. He is a beacon of excellence in a sea of dross. Imagine your clock radio alarm coming on to the sound of Evans _________________ MiS |

Heck, you've just reminded me that mine will when the change comes into effect. But what shall I retune it to? Shall I just retune it to white noise in the ether? It will be more entertaining than Evans, after all! |
