It can't be coincidence that on Wednesday the BBC announced they're going to stop publishing radio presenters salaries, and then Feltz announces her departure the next day. Rumour has it she's off to Talk TV, which would be an odd move but potentially lucrative.
As for Radio 2, I would be interested to see if Phil Williams gets a shout. |

Interesting. I've always wondered why anyone would want to do two very early breakfast shows. Apart from the money,of course, though as far as I'm aware, BBC local radio don't pay anywhere near as much as national radio. You'll probably know better than me, Ian.
I agree about Phil. They owe him, after getting rid of him on Five Live. I know he's sat it a fair few times for OJ Borg, so if Westwood is off the list, then why not? _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

According to the BBC's latest annual report Feltz was getting just over £400,000 a year for 190 editions of Radio 2 Early Breakfast Show and 220 editions of Radio London Breakfast Show.
I think most local radio presenters doing the same workload get around £30,000-40,000 per year (at best) so replacing her will save the BBC a fair bit of dosh. |

Going from 4-5m listeners to about 10,000 viewers. Really weird. Yeah, she gets lots of money but the only attention she'll get now is from the obsessive nutters who watch that channel. |

Feltz's show on TalkTV has been registering "Zero" viewers, which means fewer than 10,000 people are watching. The simulcast radio figures may be a little better, but it's a far cry from the sort of audiences she was getting at the BBC.
The craziest thing is that, in contrast to the likes of Steve Wright and Fi Glover, I don't think anyone actually noticed she'd left the Beeb anyway. |
