Tim Yeo has called on David Cameron to be a man or mouse over the Heathrow expansion to build a third runaway.

I believe that property and land has already been signed and agreed? The reason is they have already spent millions on these plans. The diggers will move in with in five years. The UK needs to catch up with infrastructure - Transport, Airport expansion, and New Towns as we are lacking behind other countries. |

The Uk needs to concrete over the whole of the south east. That way planes will be able to take off and land from wherever they like and the congestion on the M25 will cease to be. It's so simple I don't know why I didn't think of it. Oh, hang on, I just did. |

There must be different rules in Parliament. If I, when I worked for the local NHS Trust, had contacted the press and asked whether a named senior manager was a man or a mouse, I'd have been looking for another job pretty quickly.

The problem with DC is that he's spent too much time with Nick Clegg: DC like NC, now has a different policy on everything depending on who he is talking to and which day of the week it is. Spineless pathetic excuses for politicians- no one has any balls anymore. |

I agree Rach - Cameron is an embarrasment to both his party and the country - we need a change of leader before the next election and hopefully it will be David Davis rather than good old Boris although I do have a soft spot for him but I won't elaborate further at this stage _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I have a soft spot for Cameron, quick sand.
Have to agree, he is spineless and the Tories are in for a hiding at the next general Election unless they change their leader.
The thought of Prime Minster Miliband doesn't exactly look appealing either though does it?
Not a very good choice to be faced with at the ballot box. |

What I find annoying about Cameron is that he claims to be against PR in General Elections but yet when he became Tory Leader it was under a system of PR and if the election had been on a 'first past the post' basis David Davis would have won by a huge majority
Cameron reminds me of Blair far too much _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Trouble is that Cameron isn't anywhere near as clever as Blair, and that's the Tories' problem. |

I think he certainly models himself on Blair but makes a terrible job of it, not that Blair was that good at being Blair. |

Yep! it's been a number of years since we've had a decent prime minister, I don't think we've really had one since I've been eligible to vote. |

David Cameron and Nick Clegg could set up an Independent Commission for the Heathrow expansion. The commission could look at a possible 3rd Runway with 6th terminal, or RAF Northolt and possible train link between Heathrow. If the commission recommends expansion then Cameron could do a U turn. |

Cameron WILL do a u-turn. He's been practising enough and it's what he's good at. |

Yeah, it's bound to happen.
Better than spending 50 billion flattening acres of Berkshire or Oxfordshire.....
..... which would also need a rail link which would not look good side by side with the HS2 to Birmingham....
.... mind you I don't think THAT 30 billion nonsense will see the light of day either, and I'm a NIMBY with that one as I drive, eat and drink around Kenilworth and Berkswell every week and don't want that ruined _________________ -

Can you make sure it's not in my back yard either, John. Anywhere else is fine.
If we had a runway in Milton Keynes it would have to have a roundabout half way along it and one at each end. That might confuse the pilots somewhat. |

Yes it will happen. It doesn't matter how many back bencher's or MP's disagree with the proposals. We don't want to fall behind other countries. Our Infrastructure has been behind for years through all Governments. They just keep building houses and no new towns. |

You're confusing issues here. You say it will happen irrespective of the wishes of backbenchers "or MPs" (aren't backbenchers MPs?) but any Acts of Parliament must be passed by a Commons majority, so those who disagree with any proposals obviously do count, don't they?
Secondly, an adequately serving "infrastructure" implies effective management of resources and not just throwing more resources at such a problem. |

Why do we need any new towns? IMO there are quite enough towns already. What we need is better, affordable & more efficient public transport but there is more chance of hell freezing over than that occurring. |
