Gerry Marsden is 72 today!
I read, online, the other week that he had to cancel a Sixties tour recently, due to illness....I hope he is on the mend and has a happy birthday!

I love that song Becky!
After watching it I clicked on Ferry Across The Mersey, another classic, and enjoyed seeing the old Top Of The Pops chart in the background. Wonderful nostalgia. Spoilt by sight of the presenter though. |

Paul Simon is 73 today.

As an aside I caught the end of Sunday Night At The Palladium last night and the star turn was Art Garfunkel
He sang The Sound Of Silence, sounding a little strained at times which made me feel uncomfortable for him. |

A couple of days late but worth mentioning...
Jimmy Young celebrated his 95th birthday on the 21st of September.

Ken Bruce played 'The Man From Laramie' two days ago, rather a nice little song. |

Oh I missed that Schiz and I quite like to hear it now and then. Can't believe his age though!

Just had to resurrect this thread to wish Macca a Happy 80th Birthday.
A true musical legend
Feeling very nostalgic this morning listening to Freda Kelly (secretary of the fan club) and Billy Kinsley of the Merseybeats reminiscing.
At about 1hr 52 mins in if anyone wants a listen.

Happy 80th to the amazing Macca. A phenomenon, force of nature, and the driving force behind the Fabs for the last few years. Greatest songsmith of the 20th century.
And I say that as a huge John fan. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
